3D Scanning · Digital Reconstruction · Rendering · Video Editing
Bridging cultural heritage and digital technology, this project presents a turntable animation of a statue of Alexander the Great, reconstructed using 3DUNDERWORLD-SLS-v3.0, an open-source 3D scanning software system.
The process transforms a physical artefact into a digital model through structured-light scanning, alignment, and merging. My contribution focused on the alignment and merging of the scanned data, followed by rendering the final 3D model to create a clear, continuous visual presentation of the statue.
The project explores the potential of digital reconstruction as a tool for documenting, visualizing, and preserving cultural heritage, bringing a historical subject into a contemporary digital environment.
